Man Utd fans want the U18s star to play against Bournemouth after Michael Carrick saw an ‘amazing’ Liverpool performance.
Manchester United fans are excited about a young player who shone in the Under-18s’ 6-3 win over Liverpool at Carrington. Despite the wet and windy weather, the match was full of goals and thrills, with sporting director Jason Wilcox and men’s head coach Michael Carrick watching closely.
United’s team, which included Wayne Rooney’s oldest son Kai, led 3-0 at half-time thanks to two goals from Jaume Camacho and one from Noah Ajayi. Liverpool fought back in the second half with goals from Finn Inglethorpe and Erik Farkas, but United finished strong. Camacho completed his hat-trick, Emmanuel Ziro made it 5-2, Liverpool scored again, and Camacho sealed the victory with a fourth goal during stoppage time.
While Kai Rooney put in a promising performance and got an assist, it was Camacho who caught the fans’ attention. The Spain-born central midfielder, who can also play full-back, has already contributed seven goals and assists in just five Under-18 Premier League games this season.
Fans quickly shared their thoughts about the 17-year-old’s great showing. One said, “Jaume Camacho is a world-class goalscoring midfielder. With some luck and a manager who trusts young players, he has the talent to make it.” Another added, “He’s technically gifted, tough to press, versatile, and capable of controlling the game. A real talent to watch.” Others called him “a manager’s dream” and compared his style to Bellingham, saying he looks less effective than he actually is because of his unique playing style.
Camacho is already signed with Roc Nation Sports, which also represents stars like Kevin De Bruyne, Endrick, and Marcus Rashford. Earlier this year, his agent Nathan Campbell told Spanish media MARCA how highly he thinks of Camacho.
“I’ve never seen him have a bad game,” Campbell said. “He’s a leader, works hard, and plays with great skill and intelligence in different positions.” He also said Roc Nation wants to see Camacho join the first team soon. “When he reaches his full physical potential, combined with his football smarts, he’ll be an elite player. Our goal is for him to break into the first team quickly and win major trophies with his club and country.”
