Man Utd have two offers for Marcus Rashford after Anthony Gordon moved to Barcelona.

Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon is almost set to join Barcelona, which looks like it will end Marcus Rashford’s chances of returning to Camp Nou. This leaves Manchester United with two main options to move Rashford on this summer.

Even though Rashford helped Barcelona win La Liga during his loan spell, the Spanish club seems closer to signing Gordon from Newcastle in a deal said to be worth around £69.3 million, rather than making Rashford’s loan permanent. Earlier reports said United and Barca had agreed on a £26 million deal for Rashford to stay, but now, according to The Athletic, Barca’s top bosses aren’t so sure. They see Gordon as a better fit since he can play across the front line and on both wings.

United’s head coach, Michael Carrick, has a good relationship with Rashford, but with the way things went during his move to Barca, a return to Old Trafford doesn’t seem likely right now. When asked about it in April, Carrick said: “There are decisions to be made, and Marcus is one of them. Nothing’s been decided yet, but it will be soon.”

Former United defender Jaap Stam suggested a swap deal could work between United and AC Milan, with Portuguese winger Rafael Leao possibly coming to Old Trafford while Rashford goes the other way. Leao, 26, has a £131 million release clause and has shown great potential in Milan. Stam said that it’s not just about skill but also a player’s mentality and how they fit into the club’s future plans.

At the same time, Spanish media Mundo Deportivo reports that United are watching Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado. A swap involving Casado could give Rashford another chance to return to Camp Nou. Casado might replace Casemiro, who will leave United when his contract ends next month. The 22-year-old has one goal and seven assists in 75 games for Barca.

Meanwhile, Dutch midfielder Frenkie De Jong, who plays for Barcelona, has said he’d love to see Rashford stay next season. De Jong told SPORT: “He’s given us a lot with goals, assists, and speed. I’d be very happy if he stayed. From the start, you could see he wanted to be here and he’s done well adapting.”

Rashford is still under contract with United until 2028 and reportedly earns £325,000 a week.
