Dominic Solanke scored a late goal to cancel out Bryan Mbeumo’s opener, helping Tottenham secure their first point of the Premier League season with a 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Despite a slow start to the season, Tottenham surprised many by controlling much of the early game and holding plenty of possession at Old Trafford. They even missed a couple of good chances before halftime, with Solanke and Conor Gallagher unable to score from simple opportunities.

Manchester United struggled to match Tottenham’s energy, and worries about their fitness showed again, even after a three-week international break. Tottenham could have won comfortably by several goals, but in the end, they’ll be pleased to earn a point thanks to Solanke’s equalizer in the 92nd minute.

Player Ratings:

Senne Lammens – 6/10: He wasn’t as calm as usual when playing from the back but made some key saves. Could have let in more on a different day.

Leny Yoro – 7.5/10: United’s best player. Although he played great at right-back, his future might be elsewhere after his good performance for France. He should keep his place for the Atletico game.

Harry Maguire – 5.5/10: Made risky passes and looked uneasy with the pressure from Tottenham. Yoro deserves a chance at centre-back.

Lisandro Martínez – 5.5/10: A quiet game with many touches but was partly to blame for Tottenham’s equalizer.

Luke Shaw – 6/10: Found it tough to handle Mohammed Kudus at times. An average game on the left side.

Youri Tielemans – 4/10: United’s midfield was often outplayed. Tielemans needs a stronger partner, or gaps will keep opening. He kept the ball well but seemed out of shape.

Kobbie Mainoo – 6/10: Struggled with Tielemans early on but looked better after Carlos Baleba came on.

Amad – 5/10: A quiet first competitive start of the season.

Bruno Fernandes – 4/10: Took 23 minutes to complete his first pass, showing just how off his game was. Sloppy and uncharacteristic.

Matheus Cunha – 6/10: Improved in the second half and set up Mbeumo’s goal.

Bryan Mbeumo – 7/10: Scored a fantastic goal and looked United’s biggest threat.

Joshua Zirkzee – 6.5/10: Came on late and made a positive impact, one of his better games despite limited time.

Diogo Dalot – 6/10: Carrick’s substitutions helped. Dalot has been criticized lately but showed signs of improvement.

Carlos Baleba – 7/10: A promising performance from a player who could be key for United this season. Made an immediate difference after coming on.
