Man Utd player who hasn’t played for the first team might join a Champions League club soon
Manchester United are having a busy summer with lots of changes, and one player who wants to leave might finally get his chance. After qualifying for the Champions League under Michael Carrick, the club is using the transfer window to rebuild a squad that can compete on all fronts.
Being back in Europe’s top competition means United need more players in every position. So far, three new players have joined the team. Carrick has signed goalkeeper Karl Darlow from Leeds United on a free transfer, and midfielders Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos have arrived for a total of £83 million. Tielemans and Santos will help fill the gap left by Casemiro, who left for Inter Miami.
Casemiro isn’t the only player to leave Old Trafford this summer. Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, Rasmus Hojlund, and Andre Onana have also moved on, with more exits expected.
Recently, Radek Vitek, a young goalkeeper, said he wants to leave to get more regular playing time. “I feel great and ready to play regularly, hopefully as the number one goalkeeper. We’ll see what happens,” Vitek said after a pre-season game against Wrexham in Finland. “Right now, I’m still here, but I hope there will be some interest. You’ll know more when things get more concrete.”
Vitek had an amazing season at Bristol City, winning Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, and Players’ Player of the Year awards. Unsurprisingly, his great form caught the attention of teams like Coventry City, Ipswich Town, and Hull City, who recently moved up to the Premier League.
But now it looks like he might have an even more exciting option. According to German media BILD, Stuttgart are interested in him. They need a goalkeeper because Dennis Seimen, their expected number one, is out with a thigh injury until mid-September.
Manchester United would prefer to loan out Vitek, which Stuttgart would like since it wouldn’t cost them much. Vitek still has two years left on his United contract and is reportedly worth around £15 million. A move to Stuttgart, who finished fourth in the Bundesliga and qualified for the Champions League, could be a great step for him.
On Friday, Carrick even started Vitek in a friendly match against Rosenborg in Trondheim, showing he’s still in the club’s plans for now.
