Man Utd start talks to sign £60m PSG star after transfer request ‘sent in’

Manchester United are said to have started talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola this summer. United are looking for a new attacker as they get ready to play in the Champions League again, and the 23-year-old could be a great fit.

PSG would like to keep Barcola, but talks about his contract have hit a pause because he’s frustrated with not playing much lately. Since Khvicha Kvaratskhelia joined PSG in January 2025, Barcola’s game time has dropped, even though he still played 49 times across all competitions last season.

Barcola was reportedly very upset about not starting in the Champions League semi-final or final, where PSG beat Arsenal to win the trophy. Despite that, he’s done well enough to make France’s squad for the 2026 World Cup and might play in their first match against Senegal on Tuesday, though it seems unlikely as he hasn’t started in their warm-up games.

According to L’Equipe, PSG wants to keep Barcola but understands his situation. They may let him go this summer if a good offer comes in and they find a replacement. Along with United, Arsenal and Liverpool are also watching Barcola closely in case he becomes available.

TalkSPORT reports that Barcola, who scored 13 goals and made seven assists last season, is valued at £60 million. With two years left on his contract, PSG is not in a rush to sell.

If United go after Barcola, they’ll have tough competition from Arsenal and Liverpool. Both clubs have strong reasons to sign him—Arsenal want a new left winger to build on their Premier League win, and Liverpool need a forward after Mohamed Salah left.

While United want a new attacker, their main focus this summer is refreshing the midfield, with possibly three new players coming in. They might also look to sign a full-back and a backup goalkeeper. Signing a striker looks more likely than adding another wide forward.
