Mauro Icardi received a very rare legal penalty that will last until 2099.
Mauro Icardi has been banned from driving in Argentina for 73 years after facing a rare penalty. This happened after a video showed his model partner, Eugenia ‘China’ Suarez, leaning out of a moving car without wearing a seatbelt.
The Argentine transport ministry reacted strongly, sharing the video on social media and announcing the long driving ban until 2099. While looking into the video, they found out Icardi was driving with an expired license.
On X, @TransportePBA said: “ICARDI BEHIND THE WHEEL WITH AN EXPIRED LICENSE. Eugenia ‘la China’ Suárez unbuckled her seatbelt and leaned out of the window while Mauro Icardi kept driving. After seeing the video, we confirmed Icardi’s license was expired.”
They added: “Because of this, he’s been temporarily banned from driving. Before he can get a new license, he must pass a test to see if he’s fit to drive. Road safety is very important.”
This ban means Icardi technically can’t drive until he’s 105 years old! But he can get a new license after the evaluation.
Icardi responded on X, saying he has a valid Italian license and accused the ministry of using his name just for attention. He wrote: “Hi, I’d like to know how you managed to block my Italian license, which is valid until 2029. It seems strange that even the transport ministry is bothering me just to get some media buzz.
Focus on fixing our roads and traffic instead of tweeting about me. Stop lying and get to work. You must give up the Argentine license when you switch to a European one. What suspension are you talking about? All this drama for a bit of gossip.”
Lately, Icardi has faced many legal issues, including his divorce from ex-wife and former agent Wanda Nara, custody of their children, and a property dispute in Istanbul.
He is now a free agent after leaving Galatasaray this summer. In his last season, he scored 16 goals in 47 games and helped the team win their fourth straight league title.
The former PSG striker has been called a “one-man soap opera” by the media because of his off-field problems. After leaving Galatasaray, he didn’t find a new club. A possible move to Olympiacos fell through due to wage concerns.
There were rumors Spurs might sign him as a free agent, but Football Insider later said it won’t happen. A return to Italy seems more likely, with Lazio reportedly interested.
