Max Verstappen received a special helmet and race suit for his emotional final Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort.
Max Verstappen is getting ready for a special moment at the last Dutch Grand Prix next weekend by wearing a unique helmet and race suit. This race, held every year at his home track in Zandvoort, will stop after the 2026 season because costs are going up and there’s no government support.
Another reason for ending the race is to finish on a high note, while Verstappen still has strong support from his fans, known as the “Orange Army.” If his performance drops in the future, that support might fade.
To celebrate this special event, Verstappen’s helmet and race suit will honor Zandvoort in a way different from his Red Bull teammate Isack Hadjar’s gear. Verstappen’s suit will be black with orange details on the shoulders, while Hadjar’s will be black with white accents. Their race numbers will be designed in waves, reflecting the track’s seaside location.
Red Bull shared a video on social media saying “special moments call for special suits” and also showed off custom designs for the 2025 Japanese and Las Vegas Grands Prix.
Earlier this week, Verstappen revealed his unique helmet for the last race at Zandvoort. The blue and white look is inspired by Delft, a city famous for its beautiful Delftware pottery. Verstappen wrote, “For my last home race. Dankjewel Zandvoort,” which means “Thank you, Zandvoort.” Red Bull replied, “A special helmet for a special race. Ready for one last charge around Zandvoort.”
Fans have loved the special design so much that Verstappen’s Delft-themed clothing line sold out online very quickly.
Verstappen, a four-time world champion, is currently sixth in the F1 standings after a tough start to the season. He did better with a second-place finish at the Hungarian GP before the summer break and now hopes to make history by winning the final Dutch race. So far this season, he has been on the podium four times but hasn’t won a race yet. He has 109 points, just 110 behind leader Kimi Antonelli.
