Netflix has got the rights to show the 2030 FIFA World Cup, and you’ll be able to watch all 104 matches live in Spain!
Netflix has landed a huge deal to stream all 104 matches of the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra exclusively.
It’s only been three months since Spain won the 2026 World Cup by beating Argentina at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, but fans are already excited about the 2030 tournament.
The 2030 World Cup will feature 48 teams playing from June 8 to July 21. Fans around the world will be watching, and many in Spain and Andorra will be able to catch every match live on Netflix, which has secured the rights to broadcast the games there.
This tournament also marks the 100th anniversary of the World Cup, which started in Uruguay. To celebrate, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay will host the opening matches. Spain, the current champions, will co-host the event along with Portugal and Morocco.
Netflix made a big move by becoming the go-to place for fans in Spain and Andorra to watch all 104 matches live. They said, “We will offer all 104 matches of the world’s biggest football competition live.”
Usually, FIFA chooses public broadcasters so as many people as possible can watch for free. So, it’s a bit surprising that a subscription service like Netflix has the rights. But Netflix promised that in Spain, one match per day will be free to watch, and all Spain matches, both semifinals, and the final will be available on a national free-to-air TV channel.
Besides the matches, Netflix will also air full coverage with pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows for viewers in Spain.
The exact cost of the deal isn’t public yet, but for comparison, Spain’s public broadcaster RTVE reportedly paid €55 million (£26.1 million) for the 2026 World Cup rights.
This deal is just the latest step in Netflix’s push into live sports. They already have the US rights to the 2027 and 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cups and are airing the full 2026/27 season of “The Rest is Football.” Plus, Netflix will stream big sporting events like the upcoming boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
It’s important to know that this Netflix deal won’t affect how fans in the UK watch the 2030 World Cup. The matches there will likely be shown on the BBC and ITV, just like before. Those broadcasters are expected to share the schedule closer to the tournament date.
