One name being talked about a lot is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, a Danish midfielder who’s currently playing for Marseille. The Daily Mail says the 31-year-old is interested in moving to Newcastle and could be the key player to organize the young midfield for Jaissle.
Hojbjerg isn’t the only former Spurs player Newcastle are eyeing this summer. They’ve also been linked with Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich. Like Hojbjerg, Palhinha could play a similar role in midfield, maybe as a backup if Hojbjerg doesn’t join.
Newcastle believes both players would be great for helping younger stars like Sean Steur and Aladji Bamba grow. Palhinha might be an easier deal to make since Bayern Munich is open to letting him go. He’s shown he can play well in the Premier League, both with Fulham and Tottenham on loan last season.
