Olympian with OnlyFans account who made headlines for an R-rated celebration receives 20-month sports ban

Alysha Newman, an Olympic bronze medallist who caught everyone’s attention with her bold celebration at the 2024 Paris Olympics, became a viral sensation. After winning bronze in the pole vault behind Katie Moon from Team USA and Australia’s Nina Kennedy, Alysha surprised many by bending her legs, putting her hands on her thighs, and twerking right there on the big Olympic stage. She later explained why she chose that unique way to celebrate.
At 32, Alysha is no stranger to headlines. She also has an OnlyFans account, which she talked about in an interview with the German news outlet BILD. She said, “I share a lot about my training, nutrition, and tips. I make money from what I post, and it helps me feel confident and good about myself. Some people have their ideas about OnlyFans, but I’ve connected with more fans here than any other pole vaulter.”
However, Alysha is now facing a new controversy. She was banned for 20 months after missing a drug test. The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) reported that she missed three doping control sessions between February and August 2025, which counts as a violation. The last time she competed was in May 2025 at Diamond League events in Qatar and Morocco.
After the third missed test, Alysha told officials she had to leave urgently to take part in filming a TV game show. Her suspension lasts until August 2027 and is shorter than the usual two years because the AIU accepted that she had decided to retire from pole vaulting. The AIU said her situation was unique and took that into account when deciding her punishment.
