Roy Keane Gets ‘Starstruck’ Meeting Sylvester Stallone for the First Time in Viral Video

Roy Keane is known for being tough and serious, but he was totally starstruck when he met Sylvester Stallone on the Stick to Football podcast. Stallone, who said he was an Everton fan back in 2007, joined Keane along with regulars Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott, and Ian Wright.
The 80-year-old actor talked about the story behind Rocky, his rivalry with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and how he made a big comeback in Hollywood after being rejected.
This podcast was a special moment for Keane, who is a big fan of Stallone. In fact, he even wore a John Rambo t-shirt during the recording. The team at The Overlap shared a sneak peek of Keane meeting Stallone before the full episode came out, and the clip quickly went viral. Many people noticed how starstruck Keane looked.
In the video, Keane even pulled down his t-shirt when Stallone walked in. Stallone noticed and said, “Nice t-shirt!” Jill Scott joked that it felt like royalty was in the room.
One fan said, “I’ve never seen him look so starstruck. Look at his face when Sly walks in, and he’s got the Rambo t-shirt on too. Watch him pull it down and straighten it so Sly can see it.” Another added, “Never seen Roy Keane so clearly in awe of someone before,” while another wrote, “First time Roy Keane was in a room and he isn’t the main guy. Stallone has an insane aura.” Others commented on the sparkle in Keane’s eyes and how nervous he seemed.
You might be surprised, but Stallone really did attend an Everton game in January 2007. He was there for the 1-1 draw with Reading and even wore an Everton scarf as he was introduced to the crowd at Goodison Park. The actor was invited by Robert Earl, a then-Everton shareholder and founder of Planet Hollywood, who bought 23% of the club in late 2006.
Later on, in 2015, Stallone made another appearance at Goodison, but this time on the big screen. He was encouraging fans during filming for the movie Creed, which starred Tony Bellew and was shot at Everton’s home stadium.
