Three Bournemouth players Andoni Iraola should consider for Liverpool’s rebuild
It looks like Liverpool has a busy summer ahead, with lots of people hoping the club will support their new manager by bringing in some new players. So, who might they sign?
We do know that Andoni Iraola, who recently helped Bournemouth achieve their best league finish ever, will have talks with Liverpool this week about becoming their new head coach. This comes after Arne Slot left the club following a disappointing fifth place in the Premier League.
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler recently said the team needs “five or six players at least” this summer, especially since key players like Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate are all leaving on free transfers and will need to be replaced.
Iraola might bring some players from his old club Bournemouth, according to The Sun. They mention Alex Scott and Rayan as possible signings. Rayan joined Bournemouth in January for £24.7 million and has scored five goals and made two assists in the league. Scott has been a regular starter under Iraola and got his first England call-up last November.
Liverpool has struggled recently with protecting the midfield, and Scott could help fill that gap. The report suggests Scott might be eager to join Iraola again, and Rayan is seen as an exciting player to replace Salah.
With Hugo Ekitike expected to be out until January due to an Achilles injury, Liverpool will probably need more attacking players so they don’t have to depend too much on Alexander Isak, who has also faced fitness issues. Bournemouth striker Junior Kroupi could help ease that pressure.

The 19-year-old Kroupi, who joined Bournemouth from FC Lorient for about £12 million, became the highest-scoring teenager in a Premier League debut season, scoring 13 goals in 2025-26.
In April, Iraola praised Kroupi, saying, “Junior has been a big challenge for me this season, one of the biggest. From the start, we saw he has special qualities. His finishing is excellent. But we had to work a lot with him, especially on things he wasn’t used to, to earn his playing time. He’s become a much better player. I know he scored goals early on, but I try not to focus on that with him because scoring comes naturally to him and will always be part of his game.”
