Three players Liverpool should sign in January to compete with Arsenal and Man City for the title

Liverpool might look to spend big in January to boost their Premier League title hopes for the second half of the season. The Reds have started well under head coach Andoni Iraola but already sit six points behind early leaders Manchester City and defending champions Arsenal. Liverpool have only lost once in their first eight league games and can be confident about the strong base they’ve built for what could be a great season.

Still, there’s room to get better. Liverpool could use some help at full-back and defensive midfield, and adding another attacker or two would help take pressure off star striker Alexander Isak. Signing players in January is often tricky since teams don’t like to sell in the middle of a season. But here are three players who could really help Liverpool become real title contenders.

First, Liverpool are linked with Barcelona full-back Alejandro Balde. The 23-year-old has fallen out of favor at Barcelona and might be open to a move to England. With budgets tight in January, Liverpool could be interested in a loan deal for Balde. He’s had limited game time this season and might leave if he doesn’t get more chances after his teammate Xavi Espart’s injury.

Next, Liverpool want to strengthen their midfield and are eyeing defensive midfielder Lamine Camara. The 22-year-old, who plays for Monaco, has started the season strongly with goals and assists. Liverpool has already talked to his representatives. Chelsea is also interested but is focusing on other targets, so Liverpool might have an edge. They believe Camara could adapt quickly to the Premier League.

Finally, Liverpool are also interested in adding another attacker and have their eyes on Valencia’s young forward David Otorbi. The 19-year-old has started breaking into Valencia’s first team and scored once already. While he’s still developing, he could be a great long-term signing. Valencia has a release clause for about £30 million, which Liverpool could pay, but that price might rise to £50 million in January if Valencia activates an option, making the move harder.

With these signings, Liverpool could strengthen their squad and keep pushing hard for the title as the season goes on.
