NFL legend Tom Brady recently talked about rumors that he might join Team USA at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Brady, 48, who won seven Super Bowls during his amazing NFL career, sparked excitement over the weekend when he played in the first-ever Fanatics Flag Football Classic on March 21 at the BMO Arena in Los Angeles.

Flag football is a safer, no-contact version of American football where players wear flags on their hips, and instead of tackling, opponents pull off the flags to stop them.

Even though Brady retired from the NFL in 2023 — after briefly coming back for a short time — he looked in great shape, scoring two touchdowns in two games during this special event.

Team USA won all three games in the tournament, beating Brady’s Founders FFC team, which also featured NFL star Rob Gronkowski. The winners also beat the Wildcats, made up of players like Joe Burrow and Jayden Daniels. Brady’s team, coached by Sean Payton, unfortunately lost both matches.

Despite the losses, fans were impressed by Brady’s first competitive game in almost three years. After the games, Brady said the NFL stars were “way behind” when it came to flag football tactics.

“We were trying to play more NFL style football,” Brady explained. “It happens fast out there, and those players are really quick and tricky. They did a great job running the ball.”

When asked if he’d consider competing for Team USA at the Olympics, Brady said, “No. LA28 will be full of guys like those you saw on the field, giving their best to show their skills to the world. If I can help in any way, I’d love to support it. I really hope the American team wins it all.”

His recent statements come just days after he said on Good Morning America that while he wouldn’t say never to competing, it’s probably unlikely.

“I think it’s great for the younger guys like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen to go for the gold,” Brady said. “If I take part, it would probably be more as a coach or advisor. I want to leave the playing to the young stars.”
