Top European club is interested in Benjamin Sesko as Man Utd gets ready for their move

A big European club is interested in signing Manchester United forward Benjamin Sesko this summer.

Sesko joined United from RB Leipzig in 2025 and had a slow start under Ruben Amorim, scoring just two goals in 17 games before Michael Carrick took over as manager in January. When Carrick came in, both the team’s results and Sesko’s performance improved. United finished third and qualified for the Champions League, while Sesko scored nine goals in the second half of the season.

Unfortunately, Sesko missed the last three Premier League games of the 2025/26 season because of an injury he got against Liverpool in May. Despite that, fans have noticed he looks stronger in recent training photos. At 23, he’s eager to keep improving as United compete in four competitions this year: the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup.

According to Bundesliga reporter Christian Falk, Bayern Munich, a top German club, is considering going after Sesko, even though they’ve already signed Morocco’s Ismael Saibari this summer. Bayern sees Sesko as a pure striker, which would let their star player Harry Kane play a bit deeper and focus on creating chances.

Kane is expected to start talks for a two-year contract extension when he returns for pre-season on August 8. Falk shared with Bayern Insider that Kane knows he’s not getting faster but understands his value with passing and playmaking. Bayern has had the idea of adding a striker like Sesko since Vincent Kompany joined in 2024. They tried to sign Sesko earlier, but he was too expensive back then, so Manchester United signed him instead.

Now, with Saibari in the squad, Bayern will see if they need someone like Sesko this season or later on. He’s still on their radar, especially if he struggles to shine in the Premier League. Bayern’s plan is to find a striker who can eventually succeed Kane and fit in a two-striker setup, which is a key idea from Kompany.

Before joining United, Sesko played in the Bundesliga from 2023 to 2025, scoring 39 goals and making eight assists in 87 games for RB Leipzig. He’s currently under contract with Manchester United until 2030.
