Tottenham Hotspur gets outshined by Beyonce as a surprising two-year stat comes to light
A pretty surprising stat has come out connecting Tottenham Hotspur to music superstar Beyonce, and it’s not in Spurs’ favor after their rough start to the season.
On Saturday, Spurs lost again, this time 3-2 at home to Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. This means Spurs have only won one of their seven games so far— a 5-1 win over Charlton in the Carabao Cup. So, oddly enough, the massive stadium has hosted more Beyonce concerts than Spurs home wins in almost two years!
After five Premier League games, Spurs sit at the bottom of the table, with no wins and just two points from two draws, heading into a three-week international break. This is disappointing, especially after Spurs spent about £380m this summer to sign ten new players like Sandro Tonali, Omar Marmoush, and Mateus Fernandes. With back-to-back 17th place finishes behind them, fans really hoped for a better start to the 2026/27 season.
Even more surprising is that Spurs are now behind Beyonce when it comes to success at their own stadium. Back in June 2025, Beyonce held six sold-out shows there for her Cowboy Carter tour, drawing over 275,000 fans and making roughly £7.5 million per concert.
So, from November 2024 until now, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has seen more Beyonce concerts than Spurs home league wins—which total just five from 36 games! That’s a rough record no other top English team has had at home since the league began in 1888.
It’s no wonder tensions are high at Spurs, something their manager Roberto De Zerbi showed in his post-match interview after the Villa loss. Under De Zerbi, Spurs have only won two of their seven home games—the Charlton cup match and a key 1–0 Premier League win over Everton in May 2026.
De Zerbi called his team “fragile” and said they need to work much harder to get better this season. He pointed out missed chances and defensive mistakes and took responsibility for the team’s struggles.
He said, “We had many chances in the first half but didn’t score. We have to be stronger and focus better, especially when defending. Football isn’t just about having the ball — you have to be tough in key moments.”
Spurs’ next game after the break is against Manchester United at Old Trafford on October 10, followed by a home game versus newly promoted Coventry City on October 19. Fans will be hoping for a turnaround soon!
