Tottenham’s busy transfer window just got even better as they look set to get an unexpected boost from a rival.
Tottenham Hotspur might get a surprise transfer boost this summer as their rivals move to sign a familiar player. The Lillywhites just barely avoided relegation last season, edging out West Ham on the final day. Now, they could benefit again as West Ham looks set to sign Troy Parrott.
West Ham is working hard to bring in the Republic of Ireland star, who has scored 51 goals in 94 games since joining Dutch team AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2024. Tottenham is expected to get around 20% of the £25 million transfer fee, according to TalkSport, after West Ham beat interest from clubs like Ajax, PSV, Fulham, and Como.
Parrott made his Tottenham debut in the 2019 Carabao Cup but really caught attention last season when his hat-trick helped Ireland reach the World Cup qualifying play-offs. Although they lost to the Czech Republic on penalties, his performance earned him a move back to England. He’s now decided on a Championship move, becoming West Ham’s second signing after winger Keiber Lamadrid’s arrival from Deportivo La Guaira.
Meanwhile, West Ham has had busy times with players leaving too. Matheus Fernandes joined Tottenham, and star player Crysencio Summerville moved to Saudi club Al Hilal for £60 million. But the team got good news when their captain Jarod Bowen confirmed he’s staying, and they enter the Championship as favorites to win and return to the top league quickly. If things don’t go as planned, Bowen has a contract clause letting him leave for £15 million.
