US basketball player shares scary video after struggling to find safe place during strikes in Israel

A US basketball star shared her experience trying to find shelter in Israel after Iran launched attacks on Saturday—and later said she’s safe now.
The US and Israel, led by President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, started major military actions against Iran early Saturday.
Trump posted a video on social media saying the attacks were meant to protect Americans from immediate threats from the Iranian government.
According to the Iranian Red Crescent, 24 out of 31 provinces in Iran have been affected since Saturday morning.
Iran’s top leader, Ali Khamenei, was reportedly killed in a US and Israeli airstrike in Tehran on Saturday evening.
In response, Iran launched attacks on several locations across the Middle East. Countries like Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan said they intercepted missiles. These countries all have US military bases. Iran also targeted Israeli bases.
Because of this, Israel declared a state of emergency and warned people not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
Destiny Littleton, a Team USA basketball player who also played college basketball at South Carolina, is currently playing for a team in Israel during the US off-season.
She shared videos on Twitter on Saturday evening as she tried to find shelter in Jerusalem.
“I don’t know if you can hear that, but a siren is going off right now,” Littleton said. “That’s the second siren today. I’m heading to the shelter now.”
In another video, she said, “I’m walking to the safe room. I’ve heard about three or four bomb noises. Trying to stay calm.”
She even had trouble finding the safe room, saying, “I can’t find it… I don’t see the blue gate. This isn’t the right way.”
As the sirens got louder, a loud explosion could be heard in the background of her video.
After reaching the safe room, she went to a teammate’s house for shelter. “There were bombs trying to reach Jerusalem while I walked over, but I am safe now,” she said. “All is good.”
Later, she gave updates to confirm she was okay: “It’s 10pm, and we haven’t heard sirens or explosions for a few hours. Praying it stays that way.”
At 12:48am, she wrote, “I’m going to try to get some sleep. Prayers for everyone’s safety.”
