Roc Nation Sports, the agency representing several top football stars like Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, has spoken out against “fake” and “hurtful” stories from some parts of the media.

On Sunday evening, Michael Yormark, Roc Nation’s international president, shared a strong message on Instagram asking the media to be “more responsible.”

He said, “Roc Nation Sports International and our whole team won’t just sit back while unprofessional and uninformed media share false and damaging stories just to get attention. This is especially wrong when it targets our clients without any real proof.”

The statement added, “These stories cause harm and spread lies. Media outlets and journalists need to be more accountable.”

While the post didn’t name anyone directly, several Roc Nation clients, including Vinicius Jr, have been linked to big transfers this summer.

Vinicius Jr, the Brazilian star, keeps being linked to a big money move. Ahead of Arsenal’s friendly win over Girona on Saturday, manager Mikel Arteta was asked about Arsenal’s interest in him.

Arteta, who reportedly really wants to sign Vinicius, smiled when his name came up and said, “We’re working hard to improve the team and expect some moves in the next few weeks because everyone wants to get better.”

Another Roc Nation player, 19-year-old Yan Diomande, has also been frequently mentioned in transfer talks and seems close to joining Real Madrid.

However, a report from AS on Sunday said Diomande’s transfer announcement is being held up by a disagreement between agents.

It involves Max Gradel, who owns Maxidel Management, and Roc Nation, which manages Diomande.

Maxidel, the company that helped Diomande move from Leganes to RB Leipzig, has filed a complaint with FIFA claiming a contract was broken when Real Madrid dealt with Roc Nation, according to the Spanish report.
