Bruno Fernandes took it a step further in an interview with the host broadcaster after making strong comments about Michael Carrick and Man Utd.

Bruno Fernandes gave another interview after his strong criticism of Michael Carrick’s tactics during Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Como—and his words were even more direct.

Fernandes questioned United’s pressing style after their tough loss to Cesc Fabregas’ team, saying that it’s “on the manager and the staff to notice, not on me.” Carrick later addressed these comments in a press conference, saying, “If you don’t run forward and back, you’re not going to win.”

But in a chat with Sky Sports Italia, the United captain also spoke about the club’s mindset, saying they focus too much on the past instead of the present.

“At this club, there’s too much focus on what was done before, but we’re not those people anymore,” he said. “Both the club and the players need to accept that. Players who join expect to win trophies and reach the top, but unfortunately, that’s been tough here in recent years.”

Fernandes also shared his feelings about being subbed off during the game, which seemed to upset him. “No one likes to leave the pitch, especially when the result isn’t good. The match was tough. It was almost impossible to keep the ball and play in their half. Como pressed us strongly, but we didn’t press back and gave them too many chances.”

Now, Manchester United must decide if Carrick will stay on as head coach after his permanent appointment last season. Reports say that big names like Julian Nagelsmann, Eddie Howe, and Antonio Conte are being considered if there’s a change.

The club also has to handle clear disagreements between some players and the management. After Lisandro Martinez voiced strong criticism of technical director Jason Wilcox, Fernandes’ recent comments have added fuel to the fire.

According to The Guardian, Carrick’s future is uncertain after four losses in seven games, with the other three being draws. It looks like the club will need to make a quick decision soon.
