Man City fans upset with Kyle Walker over his comments on the 115 charges situation

Kyle Walker recently shared what he would do if Manchester City’s guilty verdict is confirmed after being charged with breaking most of the 115 rules, and some fans weren’t happy with what he said.

Walker spent an amazing eight years at Man City from 2017 to 2025, becoming one of the Premier League’s top right-backs. He played 319 games for the club and won 17 trophies, including six Premier League titles and the 2023 Champions League, before moving to AC Milan in 2025.

Now, he’s playing for Burnley in the Championship after choosing to stay with them following their relegation last season. Burnley have had a tough time, winning only one of their first 11 matches and sitting 22nd in the table right now.

But it’s not just on the field that Walker has faced criticism. Man City fans were unhappy when he jokingly said he’d remove his ‘four in a row’ tattoo if City loses their medals because of the Premier League’s financial rule breaches.

He told talkSPORT, “I’ve got ‘four in a row’ tattooed. (Remove it if medals are taken away?) *Laughing* Well, I’ll probably have to do that! But look at great Man United teams; they never got four in a row. Only a few of us can say we do. I’ll try to keep it, but hopefully nothing gets taken away…”

His tattoo celebrates the time Man City won four Premier League titles in a row from 2020 to 2024—something no other team has done.

Still, many fans didn’t like his words—some even questioned his leadership as captain. Comments included: “I can’t believe he was captain,” “Worst captain ever,” and “He ruined his legacy after leaving.”

If City’s wrongdoing is confirmed, punishments could include losing those titles, point deductions, fines, or even relegation. The final decision could come by February 8, though the Premier League wants it settled sooner, ahead of the club’s appeal result.

City fans’ frustration with Walker goes beyond his tattoo joke. In June 2025, he upset many by saying he’d give up one of his Premier League medals to celebrate Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League win over Manchester United. He told his BBC podcast, “I’d probably give up my second Premier League title—it was the ‘Four-midables’ year—to say I was in that Spurs team that won a trophy.”

Fans were also upset when a video showed a heated argument between Walker and manager Pep Guardiola, which led to Guardiola being emotional. Walker asked to leave the club shortly after and then joined AC Milan on loan.

These moments have kept the conversation about Walker and Man City fans very lively!
