Antonio Conte shared two important requests with Man Utd during their chat on Wednesday night.

Antonio Conte has reportedly shared two main conditions for taking over as Manchester United’s manager during informal talks, with full control over transfers being one of them.
Michael Carrick is feeling a lot of pressure after United’s disappointing 4-1 loss to Serie A team Como on Wednesday night.
The Reds have had a tough start to the 2026-27 season, going seven games without a win and sitting 13th in the Premier League, 14 points behind leaders Manchester City.
Because of this, many names have been linked to the United job lately, including former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann and the straightforward Antonio Conte.
In fact, Conte is believed to have had informal talks with United’s top officials after Wednesday’s Champions League game in Como, according to Italian outlet La Repubblica.
The report says United are “looking for a way out of their crisis” and have reached out to Conte, who has Premier League experience managing Chelsea and Tottenham.
Conte reportedly talked about the idea of returning to England’s top league but also mentioned some “specific conditions.”
He wants full control over transfers, which might be a challenge because Jason Wilcox, Christopher Vivell, and Omar Berrada play major roles in United’s recruitment.
Conte wants to have a big say in building the team, especially when it comes to signing players who fit his style.
He also wants to bring his own coaching staff to Old Trafford, which means Steve Holland, Jonathan Woodgate, Jonny Evans, and others from Carrick’s team could leave if Conte takes over.
While Conte has held talks, former Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is currently the favorite with the bookmakers to replace Carrick.
According to TEAMtalk, United have discussed the idea of hiring Howe, and being British is seen as a plus.
Howe is said to be interested in managing again after stepping down from Newcastle in July. Right now, he’s the 9/4 favorite to become United’s next head coach with several bookmakers.
