Man Utd fans pick who they want to take over from Michael Carrick after tough game against Bournemouth
Manchester United have only managed one win in eight Premier League games this season, and their latest loss came against Bournemouth. Michael Carrick was already under a lot of pressure before this match, and now it’s even tougher for him.
Fans seem fed up with the Man United legend and are asking the club to find a new manager. One name keeps coming up in their conversations.
Time might be running out for Carrick after this defeat. Supporters are struggling to watch the team under his leadership, often questioning his tactics and team choices. One big move that raised eyebrows was starting the club captain Bruno Fernandes on the bench after his comments following their loss to Como in the Champions League.
So, who could take over from Carrick? Names like Antonio Conte, Julian Nagelsmann, Unai Emery, Eddie Howe, and Fabian Hurzeler have all been talked about since the defeat to Como. But many fans believe Antonio Conte is the best choice.
One fan said, “Conte is the only one who knows how to play smart with a mid-level squad and get results. Howe would be a disaster; Nagelsmann won’t like this group of players.”
Another added, “Besides Unai Emery, only Conte can lift this really down team. Anyone else, and it could be a fight to avoid relegation. This is not the time for experiments like Nagelsmann.”
A different supporter wrote, “The board is more useless than the owners. The previous board would never let us slip to 17th without acting. Carrick is worse than Amorim. Now they’ll just get another yes-man. We need Conte or maybe we should start over.”
Meanwhile, Manchester United isn’t the only big European club facing struggles right now. Juventus have been having a tough time this season under Luciano Spalletti in Serie A. They’re currently 11th, 11 points behind the leaders Inter Milan, and haven’t won the title since 2020.
Former Juventus player Arturo Vidal recently said in an interview that the club should try to bring Conte back to help get them back on top. Vidal, who played under Conte, Pep Guardiola, and Carlo Ancelotti, called Conte the best tactician of the three.
Since tactical issues are a big problem at United right now, Conte would be a great option. But both Manchester United and Juventus could be competing to sign him.
