Newcastle make decision to sack Matthias Jaissle after Everton loss with full agreement reached

Newcastle United’s management has reportedly made a decision about Matthias Jaissle’s future after the team’s loss to Everton on Monday, November 2.

Thierno Barry’s goal helped Everton beat Newcastle for the second time in just four days. Newcastle fans showed their frustration at St James’ Park after a poor performance from their team.

This defeat dropped Newcastle to 13th place in the league. They have only won once since September, with that win coming against Crystal Palace on October 25.

Some fans have started to question Jaissle’s role, but it looks like the German coach will get more time to improve the team’s results this season. According to The Chronicle, Jaissle still has full support from the club’s leaders, including CEO David Hopkinson and sporting director Ross Wilson, who are ready to be patient with the 38-year-old coach.

The club believes the recent poor results are the responsibility of everyone involved, not just Jaissle. The Telegraph also reported that the players think the risky choices made during the summer transfer window are a big reason for the slow start.

Newcastle spent £265 million on new players, while important names like Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali, and Anthony Gordon left. Alexander Isak is set to join Liverpool in 2025.

Newcastle’s next match is against Fulham on November 7.

After the defeat, Jaissle said his players used too many long balls instead of following his game plan, which left Will Osula without enough chances.

He said, “Long balls were not the plan. We need to work on that. The team lacks confidence, and to fix that, we need to stick together and learn quickly. We couldn’t get Will into good positions. We need to move the ball smarter and with balance. Just playing long balls isn’t what he prefers, and that was not the plan. We now need to analyze exactly why we couldn’t start the game as we intended.”

When talking about the fans booing, Jaissle added, “I understood the anger and frustration. We were training well all week, but didn’t show it once the game started. The fans are frustrated, just like us. We couldn’t perform the way we wanted. We weren’t brave enough on the ball and relied too much on long passes. When that happens, you don’t deserve to win.”

Fans will hope Newcastle can bounce back soon as they look ahead to their next game.
