Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury might be cancelled if a strange condition isn’t met.

The big fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury might be canceled if one of Turki Alalshikh’s unusual requests isn’t met before the match. On July 25, British boxing star Joshua will return to the ring for a much-anticipated fight against Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in Riyadh.

This will be Joshua’s first fight since he was in a serious car crash in Nigeria, which sadly took the lives of his close friends and teammates, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele. How Joshua will perform after such a tough time is still unknown, but many expect the fight with Prenga to be a warm-up for his big clash with British rival Fury.

Joshua has confirmed the deal includes several fights, and promoter Eddie Hearn said a contract for the Joshua vs. Fury fight is signed. The fight is expected to happen in November and will be shown on Netflix.

But now, there are reports saying the fight’s plans might depend on pop star Dua Lipa being part of the event. Dua Lipa, one of the UK’s biggest music stars, would definitely add extra excitement to what could be the biggest British fight ever.

Right now, the exact date and location for Joshua vs. Fury aren’t set, but it’s likely to happen in the UK during winter – making Dua Lipa’s performance more likely. It’s also suggested that Joshua and Fury might fight twice as part of the deal.

Joshua said after confirming the fight, “I’ve taken some time to rebuild and get ready to step back into the ring. This is my next step. I’m excited to compete and pick up where I left off. As I said, the landlord will collect his rent – that’s for sure.”

Joshua’s last fight was a sixth-round knockout win over YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Miami last December, coming back from elbow surgery and a shoulder injury after his loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024.
