Liverpool fans share honest thoughts on Jordan Henderson boos after a heated moment at Anfield
Liverpool fans didn’t hold back when they saw former captain Jordan Henderson playing for Chelsea at Anfield.
On Wednesday night, Liverpool played Chelsea in the Carabao Cup fourth round, with both teams hoping to reach the quarter-finals. This match was special because both Xabi Alonso and Henderson came back to Anfield for the first time since joining Chelsea. Henderson, in particular, stirred up quite a reaction from the fans.
Henderson left Liverpool in July 2023 after a legendary 12 years at the club. He made 492 appearances and served as captain for eight seasons. During that time, he helped Liverpool win eight trophies, including the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and several others.
But when he returned as a Chelsea player, the fans didn’t welcome him warmly. Many were booing him whenever he touched the ball. This split opinions online—some thought the boos were deserved, while others felt it was too harsh for a former captain.
