Angel Reese Shares Her Thoughts on the USA After the Tragic Shooting of Alex Pretti

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese shared a message about the recent tragic shooting of Alex Pretti in the United States.
On Saturday, it was reported that 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti, an ICU nurse from Minneapolis, was fatally shot during an immigration enforcement operation. According to Fox News, the operation was focused on Jose Huerta-Chuma, described as an undocumented immigrant with a criminal record including domestic assault, disorderly conduct, and driving without a valid license.
Reports say Pretti “approached Border Patrol agents while holding a 9mm pistol” and “resisted when they tried to take the weapon from him.”
After the incident, the Minneapolis Police Department said, “We are aware of another shooting involving federal law enforcement near 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave. We are working to confirm details. We ask everyone to stay calm and avoid the area. Please follow city social media for updates.”
Angel Reese didn’t comment directly on the shooting but wrote on social media, “Praying for our country.” NBA player Tyrese Haliburton called the incident a murder, saying, “Alex Pretti was murdered.”
CNN’s Brian Stelter shared a statement from Alex Pretti’s family: “We are heartbroken and angry. Alex was kind and cared deeply for his family, friends, and the veterans he treated as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. He wanted to make a positive difference in the world, but sadly, he won’t be here to see it. We don’t use the word hero lightly, but his last act was protecting a woman.”
The family’s statement added: “The horrible lies told by the administration are shocking and unfair. Alex wasn’t holding a gun when the ICE agents attacked him. He had his phone in his right hand, his left hand raised above his head, trying to protect a woman who they just pushed down while pepper spraying.
Please help us share the truth about Alex. He was a good man. Thank you.”
