Seven-time Olympic gold winner is excited to make an amazing return to athletics at LA28, even at age 42.

Winning a gold medal at the Olympics is the dream of every athlete, but winning several is even better! Only a few special athletes can do it because it takes amazing skill, hard work, and dedication. Many athletes will be trying to make this happen at the next Olympic Games in Los Angeles in the summer of 2028.
One of them is Allyson Felix, who plans to add to her seven gold medals that summer when she will be 42 years old, making an impressive comeback. She is the most decorated woman in Olympic track and field history, with 11 medals so far, and she’s excited to try for more in 2028.
It will be a very special moment for her since these Olympics will be in her hometown of Los Angeles. As she told Time Magazine, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime homecoming. And it is the only thing powerful enough to pull me back. I know, at 40, I am not at my peak. I have no illusions about that. I’m very clear on what it is and what I want to see. I hope it’s seen that way.”
She added, “When I was competing, you just heard this roar for host-country athletes at the Olympics. I would love to experience that. I would probably be upset at myself if I just didn’t give it a try. But either way, I’ll still be there with my kids, hanging out and cheering everyone on.”
Allyson last ran at the 2022 World Championships and had her second child, a son, in 2024. Even though she took some time away from racing, she now has the chance to train and get ready to make more Olympic history by adding more medals.
She first competed in the Olympics in 2004, winning a silver medal in the 200m, and hopes to earn another medal 24 years later. Her first gold came in the 2008 Beijing Games in the 4x400m relay, where she also won a silver in the 200m.
