A ‘Looksmaxxer’ had an awkward moment while trying to flirt with Jake Paul’s fiancee.
Online influencer Braden Peters, also known as ‘looksmaxxer,’ recently had to apologize to Jake Paul after an awkward moment with his fiancée.
Jake Paul and Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam have been together for two years and got engaged in March 2025 after a proposal in Puerto Rico. They first met when Paul reached out to Leerdam online, after she went viral training for speed skating. Since then, they’ve been seen together at many events, including the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, where Leerdam won gold and silver medals.
But it seems like Braden Peters, a streamer also called ‘looksmaxxer,’ hadn’t realized they were a couple. Peters is a somewhat controversial TikTok and Kick influencer from the US, known for ‘looksmaxxing,’ which means trying hard to improve how he looks.
During a recent stream at the office of Jake Paul’s betting brand, Peters spotted Leerdam and some other women and started to flirt. But when he found out she was Jake’s fiancée, he quickly backtracked.
“Oh, there’s some girls,” Peters said, noticing them. “Do you guys work for Betr?” Leerdam replied, “Me? I’m Jake’s fiancée.”
Looking a bit embarrassed, Peters said, “Oh, nice to meet you. I was just telling Jake I’m very glad he found a girl he loves. Congratulations! It’s really nice to meet you.”
Later, Peters apologized to Jake Paul during the stream, and even awkwardly joined them for lunch.
Peters also recently appeared on Logan Paul’s podcast, where he talked about a strange practice he called ‘bonesmashing.’ This involves hitting his jaw or face on purpose to try to change how he looks, but it’s dangerous and has no proof that it works.
Jake was surprised and asked if Peters’ parents ever hid hammers in their house. Peters said, “They did, and that’s not a joke. I probably did it three or four times, then switched to using a baseball trophy. I’d get really swollen, and my coworkers thought it was weird.”
