Roy Keane is known for being pretty serious about pre- and post-match celebrations, but even he couldn’t help but be impressed by South Africa’s amazing entrance at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.

On Thursday afternoon, the 2010 World Cup hosts, South Africa, made a fun and memorable entrance before their big opening game against Mexico.

As you’ll see in the video below, the whole team was dancing and singing outside their bus, and the joyful moment quickly went viral on social media.

They then walked through the huge Azteca Stadium, which holds 83,000 fans, still celebrating and full of energy. ITV cameras caught the happy scene, while pundits Gary Neville and Ian Wright watched from the studio.

Roy Keane was watching too, and surprisingly, he really enjoyed what he saw.

Mark Pougatch kicked off the chat by saying, “After all the talk about the World Cup controversies, this is what it’s really about. Eight minutes of singing — that’s great.”

Ian Wright smiled and added, “It’s a brilliant way to start a game. You can tell the team’s so united, the energy is amazing. That’s exactly what football needs.”

Then Keane shared his thoughts with a big smile. “Fantastic,” he said. “It’s totally different from how I used to get ready before a game. I’d love to be part of that. It’s great — a different culture, but a brilliant way to get everyone in the zone together.”

Shortly after South Africa’s arrival, the opening ceremony took place at the Azteca, featuring performances by Shakira and Burna Boy singing the official World Cup song, ‘Dai Dai’.

Other stars like Alejandro Fernandez, Belinda, Danny Ocean, J Balvin, Lila Downs, Los Angeles Azules, Mana, and Tyla also took the stage to celebrate this special event.
