Andy Murray shares exciting new career move before Wimbledon, joining Jack Draper’s team

Andy Murray has shared some exciting news about his career after retiring from professional tennis, just days before Wimbledon’s main event begins.

Since retiring in 2024, the three-time Grand Slam winner has started coaching Novak Djokovic and Jack Draper. Draper has had a tough year with injuries and recently came back after two months off due to knee tendonitis. He’s now getting help from Murray as he gears up for Wimbledon.

Murray, once world number four and now ranked 160th, won his comeback match at ATP Eastbourne on Wednesday by beating fellow Brit Jack Pinnington Jones 7-5, 6-4. If his knee holds up, Draper will play his first Grand Slam of the year at Wimbledon. Murray is supporting him in a part-time coaching role that could take about 10 weeks each year if it continues long-term.

This new role has also given Murray a chance to try something different. He’s teaming up with his brother Jamie, a seven-time Grand Slam doubles champ who retired earlier this year, to create online content.

The brothers are launching a new YouTube channel called ‘The Set,’ featuring tennis match highlights and exclusive access to players during big tournaments. Their content will also appear on BBC Sport.

Their channel will be produced by Prodigy Studios, the same company behind Gary Neville’s channel, The Overlap. The goal is to grow the channel into live events, podcasts, and sponsorships. Prodigy also works with The Switch, a cricket channel hosted by England star Kevin Pietersen. Andy said both Pietersen and golfer Bryson DeChambeau inspired him to try content creation.

“I’m a big fan of what sports stars like Bryson DeChambeau and Kevin Pietersen are doing on YouTube,” Andy said. “I’ve always thought tennis could use something like this. I love the sport and having fun playing it, so I’m excited to share that fun side with tennis fans. I’m also really interested in the stats and expert insights, so we’ll cover those too, alongside the lighter stuff.”

Their first video went live Thursday morning, featuring KSI as the first guest and showing the brothers watching some of their old matches in a cool cinema-style setting. They’re also planning challenge videos, including one where viewers can win Wimbledon tickets — so there’s lots to look forward to!
