England player ratings vs Panama: One player scores just 4/10

England grabbed the top spot in their group with a 2-0 win over Panama in a solid, if not spectacular, performance.
Thomas Tuchel’s team had a slow start in the first half but grew stronger after the break, eventually taking control and earning a well-deserved victory. Goals from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane sealed the deal. Kane also made history by becoming England’s top World Cup scorer with his 11th goal in the tournament.
As England move on to the knockout stage, they’ll face either Senegal or DR Congo next.
Player ratings:
Jordan Pickford – 6
He handled a few tough saves in the first half calmly. A reliable showing.
Nico O’Reilly – 6
A solid performance in defense and showed some attacking threat for Manchester City.
Marc Guehi – 6
Steady again in the heart of defense for Man City.
Ezri Konsa – 6
Wasn’t really tested much and looked more confident than in the previous game against Ghana.
Jarell Quansah – 4
Had a tough game and was taken off due to injury. He struggled to help in attack and was out of position several times, giving Panama chances.
Jude Bellingham – 8
England’s standout player until he left the game, scoring the opener and assisting the second goal. His hard work paid off.
Elliot Anderson – 7
Another good game from the Man City midfielder, driving the team forward and helping the transition from defense to attack.
Marcus Rashford – 7
Always a threat on the left with his direct runs and eagerness to challenge the defense. Didn’t connect every time but created chances throughout.
Morgan Rogers – 6
A steady if not exciting performance as he stepped in for Bellingham while Declan Rice rested.
Bukayo Saka – 6
In his first World Cup start, he showed glimpses of what he can do going forward. Like most teammates, he found his rhythm after the first goal, which he set up, but was subbed off right after celebrating.
Harry Kane – 7
Scored England’s record-breaking World Cup goal and worked hard throughout, improving in the second half after some struggles early on.
Djed Spence (for Quansah) – 6
Fitted in well at right back off the bench and helped create some attacking chances.
Noni Madueke (for Saka) – 5
Showed flashes of promise, threatening to break behind Panama’s defense a few times.
Eberechi Eze (for Bellingham) – 5
Had a hard time catching the pace of the game and didn’t create much for teammates.
Jordan Henderson (for Anderson) – 5
Comfortable in midfield during his brief time on the pitch.
Ollie Watkins (for Kane) – 5
Didn’t have enough time to make a real impact upfront for England.
