A Premier League club has started talks with Liverpool about signing Curtis Jones.

Nottingham Forest have started talks with Liverpool about signing midfielder Curtis Jones, according to reports. It looks like Forest have a price in mind for the deal.
Jones, who is entering the last year of his Liverpool contract, has been linked with a move for some time now. Italian club Inter Milan showed interest, but their £21 million offer was well below Liverpool’s asking price, which is said to be around £35 million, according to The Times.
Inter’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio, made their intention clear: “Curtis Jones – we are paying attention to him. We didn’t hide it. We are watching how things develop.” Besides Inter, Juventus, Tottenham, and Aston Villa have also been named as possible suitors, but Nottingham Forest seem ready to make a serious bid.
Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that Forest have opened talks with Liverpool, aiming to sign Jones for between £35 and £40 million. They are also willing to offer him a five-year contract at their home ground, the City Ground.
At the moment, there are no plans to extend Jones’ current contract at Liverpool, as there is a difference between what he wants and what the club is offering.
Liverpool aren’t in a hurry to sell though and might wait until pre-season to make a decision, in case new manager Andoni Iraola wants to keep Jones in the squad.
Former Liverpool winger John Barnes feels leaving Liverpool could be the best move for Jones. He said to Betfred, “I’d love for Curtis to stay because I like him a lot. But Curtis has to decide if he wants to play every week or stay at a big club and be part of the squad.
“He played more under Arne Slot than under Jurgen Klopp, and that suited him. But at 25, he needs to think about whether he wants regular playing time. He loves Liverpool and even if he doesn’t play every week, he would be a good squad player. Still, for his own career, playing regularly would be best, so moving on might be the right choice.”
