Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury confirmed as Turki Alalshikh announces the fight
It looks like the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight is about to be officially announced, thanks to Turki Alalshikh’s post on social media.
After Fury easily beat Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this month, Alalshikh got a bit ahead of himself and tried to announce the fight, calling for Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn to join him in the ring.
Neither Joshua nor Hearn responded, and the two fighters ended up exchanging some heated words. Joshua called Fury a “clout chaser” and didn’t commit to the fight while waiting for contracts to be signed.
Now, it seems the huge match is moving forward. Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), posted on X on Monday, hinting that the fight is “happening” and “signed,” even though he didn’t mention it directly.
According to The Mirror, this could be the biggest fight in British boxing history, a battle fans have waited 10 years for. It might take place in November, with Joshua possibly having one more fight to prepare before then.
