Arsenal is chatting about selling a Premier League winner as Mikel Arteta starts clearing out four players.
Arsenal are reportedly talking about selling a key player who helped them win the Premier League and reach the Champions League final last season.
The Gunners will start the 2026/27 season as Premier League champions, having won the title for the first time in 22 years in 2026. Last month, they came very close to winning the Champions League in Budapest but lost to Paris Saint-Germain in a penalty shootout. Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes unfortunately missed their penalties.
Even though the transfer window doesn’t officially open until June 15, Arsenal’s head coach Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are already planning for next season. According to Metro, Arsenal are in talks to sell Leandro Trossard, with Newcastle United and Aston Villa interested in the Belgian forward.
Trossard, 31, joined Arsenal from Brighton in 2023 and has scored 36 goals and made 34 assists in 174 games for the club. He has a contract with Arsenal until 2027. Last season, he started 21 Premier League matches and came off the bench 10 times. One of his most important moments was scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 win at West Ham on May 10, which helped secure the title.
Despite his strong last season, Arsenal are open to selling Trossard as they want to sign a left-sided attacker. The club is linked with AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and PSG’s Bradley Barcola. Trossard is also attracting interest from Turkish side Besiktas, who tried to sign him last summer, as well as Villa and Newcastle. Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and Juventus are also said to be watching his situation.
It’s not only Trossard who might leave this summer. Three other Arsenal players—Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus, and Ben White—are also reportedly available for transfer.
When asked after the Champions League final if he would stay at Arsenal next season, Trossard said, “At the moment, yes. I still have one year on my contract and, hopefully, first we win the Champions League. Then I think next season can be another very nice season. Competition is always there. I am not afraid of that. They can bring in whoever they want. I know that I can hold my own.”
