Boxer, rumored to be the next Floyd Mayweather, jumps into the pool after getting rich again!
A boxer once seen as the next Floyd Mayweather has made headlines again by showing off his wealth during a livestream. Mayweather is known as one of the greatest boxers ever, finishing his incredible career with 15 major world titles across five weight classes and a perfect 50-0 record.
Since retiring the first time in August 2017 after knocking out MMA star Conor McGregor, many American boxers like Devin Haney and Shekur Stephenson have been compared to Mayweather. But the most famous comparison might be Adrien Broner. He became well-known as a pro boxer in 2008, after an amateur career that even Mayweather would respect.
Broner, from Cincinnati, finished his amateur days with an amazing 300 wins and only 19 losses out of 319 fights. He quickly racked up a 23-0 professional record, including a third-round knockout of Vicente Martin Rodriguez to win the WBO super-featherweight title. He looked set to follow in Mayweather’s footsteps and even defended his title successfully in 2012 against Vicente Escobedo, despite some worries about making weight.
Unfortunately, even though Broner became a world champion in four weight classes, he didn’t keep up his potential because of partying too much and not staying in top shape. Now 36, he’s faced tough times outside the ring, including filing for bankruptcy in 2021 after losing a big assault lawsuit.
But it seems like Broner is turning things around. His fun personality has helped him team up with streamer Deen The Great, and he’s become really popular online. During a recent Kick livestream, Broner got a payment that brought out strong emotions. Fans even called him a millionaire after he showed off a big payout.
“Everything’s gonna be alright,” Broner said, showing his bank balance before jumping into a pool. “They thought I was gone, but I’m here. I haven’t seen a number like this in years—it’s like a dream. Without you guys, I couldn’t take care of my 11 kids. The court stuff is sorted now, and this really made me tear up.”
He went on to say he’s feeling “back like a world champion again,” with his first Kick payment believed to be around $150,000. Broner’s last fight was just over two years ago in June 2024, when he lost to Blair Cobbs by unanimous decision.
