Bradley Barcola has decided to leave PSG, with Liverpool and Arsenal showing interest.
PSG forward Bradley Barcola is catching the eye of some of Europe’s top clubs, and the 23-year-old now faces an important choice. Barcola was part of Luis Enrique’s team that won back-to-back Champions League titles, including a dramatic penalty shootout win over Arsenal in May. However, he’s been unhappy with his limited playing time at PSG.
With big names like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, and Ousmane Dembele in the attack, Barcola has often found himself coming off the bench when he felt he deserved to start more games. Since joining PSG from Lyon in 2023, the versatile forward has won three Ligue 1 titles but has mostly been a substitute in the Champions League, which is why he’s thinking about his future this summer.
Top clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool have admired Barcola for a while, but moving might be tough because PSG is asking for a whopping £116 million. That price tag has set a high standard since Elliot Anderson’s move to Manchester City. Plus, PSG are confident about signing RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande, which makes things harder for Barcola’s chances in the team. His team is actively looking into possible moves this summer.
Barcola wants to think over his options after the World Cup, where he’s been playing a key role for France, who are favourites to win. He’s slipped down the team pecking order under Enrique, but PSG still hope to offer him a new contract and will talk about it when he returns. If he turns down their offer and insists on leaving, the club will reluctantly consider selling him, with Liverpool showing strong interest since Diomande wants to join PSG.
PSG’s attacking squad is so strong that Barcola has been pushed further down the list, even though he’s one of Europe’s most promising young forwards. He’s made a big impact at the World Cup already, scoring twice and assisting once for France. He’s expected to play an important role in their quarter-final against Morocco.
Barcola has 25 international caps and is under contract at PSG until 2028, with 76 goal involvements in 152 games for the club. Former defender Marcel Desailly wants him to stay at PSG and grow his game before moving to Liverpool or Arsenal. “Should he move to the Premier League? Not yet,” Desailly said. “Sorry, Arsenal and Liverpool fans. He should stay at PSG, play around 25 games a season, and develop in their system.”
Desailly is ignoring Barcola’s frustrations about not starting more often, believing it’s best for him to grow at PSG. But if Arsenal or Liverpool are ready to meet that huge price, the Premier League could soon be his next stop.
