Gary Neville shares his idea about Man City’s 115 charges, making Ian Wright respond with a surprised “Really?”

Gary Neville recently shared his thoughts on Manchester City’s 115 Premier League charges, and it left Ian Wright completely speechless.
With less than three weeks left in the Premier League season, both Arsenal and Manchester City are still fighting for the title. City, with a game in hand, are five points behind Arsenal. They have matches coming up against Brentford, Palace, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa.
While City’s fans have enjoyed their team’s performances this season, there’s been a cloud hanging over the club because of the ongoing case involving those 115 charges.
Back in February 2023, the Premier League said City broke 115 financial rules between 2009 and 2018. City have been fighting these claims, but after more than three years, we still don’t know what the final decision will be.
On The Overlap’s Stick to Football, Neville said he believes there’s a good chance City might be cleared of all the charges.
“It’s a shame this hasn’t been sorted yet. It’s shocking it’s taken so long, especially since other clubs like Everton and Forest have already been punished,” he said. “They could be innocent of every charge. I know you’re quiet now… but really, they could.”
Wright was surprised and replied, “Really? If they get off all 115 charges, are we just going to say, ‘Wow, can’t believe that happened, but let’s move on’? That’s a huge number!”
Neville answered, “In this country, we have the important rule of innocent until proven guilty. From what we know, there’s no proven guilt yet.”
This conversation came after Wright criticized how City keep buying players without limits. He pointed out recent signings like Marc Guehi and Antonine Semenyo, which pushed City’s spending to nearly £446 million for 15 players over a year.
Wright added, “Arsenal can’t build their team the way City does or spend like that. Somehow, City has free rein, even with 115 charges hanging over them, and nothing has been resolved.”
