Harry Kane just edges out Lamine Yamal to win a lesser-known award before the Ballon d’Or.

Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane has just won the ‘100 MARCA’ award, just days before the Ballon d’Or ceremony in London this month.
The 100 MARCA is an annual football award from the Spanish newspaper MARCA. It ranks the top 100 football players in the world based on how well they played last season.
The winner is chosen by a group of international journalists, former players, and coaches. A total of 226 voters picked their top 15 players from the 100 nominees, giving 30 points to their first choice, 25 to second, and 23 to third.
This year, Harry Kane earned enough points to win the trophy. He joins past winners like Karim Benzema (2021-22), Erling Haaland (2022-23), Vinicius Jr (2023-24), and Lamine Yamal (2024-25).
Kane finished with 3,962 points, just 25 ahead of Barcelona and Spain forward Lamine Yamal, who scored 3,937.
Coming in third was Real Madrid and France forward Kylian Mbappe with 3,440 points, followed by players like Rodri, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Lionel Messi, Fabian Ruiz, Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembele, and Pau Cubasi.
Kane scored an amazing 73 goals in 65 games between August 2025 and July 2026, making him one of the top favorites to win the Ballon d’Or on October 26 in London.
Before the event, Kane shared his thoughts about the big night.
When asked if he’d like to know the results before the ceremony, he said, “I think my wife and family would like to know because it’s stressful for everyone.
“I get why they keep it a surprise—to make sure all the big names come and more people watch. I’d love to know early so I don’t have to wait all night, but it’s their decision, and I have to respect that. We’ll just enjoy it and try not to get too nervous.”
Kane also said, “I try not to think about it too much. It’s hard though because there are always rumors flying around, so I try to stay away from them.”
