Harry Kane shares update on his Bayern plans after Man Utd and Barcelona showed interest

England captain Harry Kane has reportedly made up his mind about his future at Bayern Munich, even though there have been talks about him possibly moving to Manchester United or Barcelona recently.

Right now, Kane is in the US with the England team, where he scored two goals to help the Three Lions win 4-2 against Croatia in their first Group L game on June 17. He’s now getting ready for their next match against Ghana on June 23. Winning that game could help England move on to the round of 32, especially if Panama doesn’t beat Croatia.

While Kane is focused on helping England win their first major trophy since 1966, he’s also made an important decision about his club career. Since joining Bayern from Spurs in 2023, Kane has been amazing, scoring 146 goals in 147 games. His goals helped Bayern win back-to-back Bundesliga titles and a domestic double last season.

There’s still been some guessing about where he might go next. Some reports even linked him to Barcelona, who are looking for a top striker. Bayern want to keep Kane, who is under contract until 2027. Manchester United have also shown interest, with their co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe being a big fan of Kane.

In June, German news outlet Kicker said there were some differences about a new contract, but they didn’t rule out big offers after the World Cup. Bayern want him to stay, and Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg said talks about a new deal will start after the tournament. There’s even a chance Kane could extend his contract to 2029. For now, Kane isn’t talking to any other clubs and is open to staying at Bayern.

Kane’s release clause, which was €65 million (£55.3 million), expired in January. Although he once hinted at coming back to the Premier League, in October 2025 he changed his mind a bit. He said he could definitely see himself staying longer at Bayern, depending on how things go and what they achieve together. When asked about the Premier League, he said that while he used to be sure he’d return, now that’s less certain, though he’s not ruling it out entirely.
