Jake Paul shares big update on his retirement after 200 days away from boxing, confirming his return date.

Jake Paul has shared an exciting update about his future in combat sports after hinting that he might retire.

Paul is not only a pro boxer but also leads Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). He hasn’t fought since December 2025, when he broke his jaw in two places during a fight with Anthony Joshua. After the injury, he had two metal plates put in and had some teeth removed.

Back in May, during an interview with combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani, Jake said he was waiting on doctors’ test results and admitted there was a chance he might never fight again. “Retirement is definitely a possibility,” he said.

In another talk with BBC Sport, he said his future in boxing was uncertain. “It depends on how the bone heals and also my missing tooth—I’ll probably need an implant,” he explained. “I’m not sure how long that will take. We just have to be smart about it.”

Now, 200 days after his last fight, Jake has given a much clearer update. Talking to ESPN’s Pat McAfee, he promised he’s still planning to fight and said his recovery is going well. “I’m definitely still fighting. We’re talking to several opponents and figuring out when to come back,” he said. “I’m almost cleared to spar again in a few weeks. So, it’s time to get back to it and keep fighting.”

He also mentioned the possibility of trying MMA and said MVP has big plans coming, including more MMA events. “The MVP and UFC rivalry is still going strong,” he joked.

When asked about potential opponents, Jake revealed he’s interested in fighting former UFC star Nate Diaz and retired boxing legend Terence Crawford. “We’re talking to Crawford, but since he’s retired, we’ll see what happens,” Jake said.

He also talked about facing Diaz in MMA. “I wrestled in high school at a very competitive level, so I’m confident. I want to do MMA. We’ve been trying to set up a fight with Nate Diaz for a while, and it’s still possible. I just need to learn kicks and jiu-jitsu since I’ve only wrestled and boxed so far.”

Fans have a lot to look forward to as Jake Paul plans his comeback!
