Jannik Sinner is now the youngest man ever to reach the final in all nine Masters 1000 tennis tournaments, and a win in Madrid could make Novak Djokovic a bit nervous.

Tomorrow, Sinner will face Alexander Zverev in the Madrid Open final. The Italian star is close to making history that might put pressure on Djokovic. This will be Sinner’s tenth Masters 1000 final, and if he wins in Madrid, he could head to Rome with a chance to earn the Career Golden Masters.

Sinner has already won titles at Indian Wells, Miami (twice), Monte Carlo, Canada, Cincinnati, Shanghai, and Paris since his first Masters 1000 win in 2023. Novak Djokovic, considered one of the greatest players ever, is currently the only man to have won all nine Masters 1000 events, achieving this back in 2018.

Djokovic won his first Cincinnati Masters at 31, beating Roger Federer, his longtime rival, after losing to Federer three times before. Sinner, at just 24, could match Djokovic’s incredible achievement much earlier by winning Madrid and then Rome, making it one of the most impressive accomplishments in tennis at a younger age.

Unlike Federer, who was stopped from winning two clay court Masters by Rafael Nadal (one of tennis’ all-time greats), Sinner won’t face his biggest Spanish rival this year. Carlos Alcaraz, who beat Sinner in both Rome and Roland Garros finals last year, won’t defend those titles because of injury.

Looking at their Masters 1000 wins, Djokovic’s first was in 2007 and he finished the set in 2018. Sinner’s journey started in 2023, and with his form, he’s on track to complete the Career Golden Masters this month.

With Alcaraz likely missing Roland Garros, Sinner could also aim for the Career Golden Slam in June. He’s already won the Australian Open, US Open, and Wimbledon but lost to Alcaraz in last year’s thrilling five-set Roland Garros final. The coming weeks could be huge for this rising tennis star!
