Jeremy Clarkson makes big F1 announcement just before the British Grand Prix

Jeremy Clarkson, one of the world’s most famous car fans, has long wanted to mix his love for fast cars with his passion for farming. Now, just before the Silverstone race, it looks like his dream is coming true.

Since his Top Gear days, Clarkson has worked closely with big names in motorsport, letting them drive affordable cars around special tracks. Now, as a business owner, he’s shared that he hopes to sponsor a Formula 1 team, with his new drink brand, Hawkstone, in mind.

You might have seen Hawkstone beer in ads during UK Sky Sports Formula 1 broadcasts. And now, Clarkson is seeing his wish come to life.

This year at Silverstone, a Formula 1 team has teamed up with Clarkson to bring his farm’s fresh produce to the race.

Fresh off a dramatic podium finish at Monaco with French driver Pierre Gasly, Alpine is going full-on British for Silverstone by joining forces with Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm.

Though Alpine has French origins after taking over Renault, their HQ is just outside Oxfordshire in Enstone—only six miles from Clarkson’s farm.

With Silverstone just an hour’s drive away, Clarkson will supply all the food and produce for the Alpine team this weekend, including for drivers Gasly and Franco Colapinto.

Steve Nielsen, Alpine’s managing director, said, “We’re thrilled to work with Diddly Squat Farm to provide local food for our team at Silverstone.”

Clarkson and Alpine have teamed up twice before—Clarkson provided Hawkstone beer to celebrate their podiums at the 2023 Monaco and 2024 Brazilian Grands Prix.

Nielsen added, “We’ve had a great relationship with Jeremy, who has supported us for years. It’s wonderful to promote British farming and show how important it is to our local area. Our Enstone base is surrounded by farms, so we truly appreciate all the hard work farmers do to feed us.

“It’s a special treat to bring local food to Silverstone and keep our team and drivers well fed this weekend. Huge thanks to Jeremy and the Diddly Squat team for their support.”

Lisa Hogan, Clarkson’s partner and co-star, said, “The British Grand Prix is one of the biggest events in the UK’s sports calendar, so having Diddly Squat Farm involved with the team this weekend feels really special.”

The connection between Diddly Squat Farm and Formula 1 keeps growing. Last season, when Clarkson shared his prostate cancer diagnosis and remission, young driver Oscar Piastri even made a fun guest appearance, humorously reversing a tractor into a barn on the farm.
