A group of Manchester United fans could be heard singing a new chant for Kobbie Mainoo as he received the Player of the Match award after his great game against Liverpool.

Mainoo, who just signed a new five-year deal with his childhood club this week, scored the winning goal in the 77th minute, helping Michael Carrick’s team win 3-2.

United got off to a strong start with goals from Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko. But after a weak first half from the visitors, Dominik Szoboszlai scored to make it 2-1, and Cody Gapko then equalized.

Then, in the 77th minute, Mainoo scored his first goal of the season, securing United’s spot in next year’s Champions League.

The 21-year-old midfielder put on a fantastic show and was named Player of the Match during his interview with Sky Sports. He said, “I saw some of my family in the crowd. It’s a blessing to play and score here. When I was younger, I used to dream about moments like this, so I would have been so happy.”

While he spoke, a group of United fans in the Stretford End started singing Mainoo’s new chant, sung to the tune of “Love Really Hurts Without You” by Billy Ocean. The words go:
“Mainoo, United can’t play without you, United can’t play without you. And you’re breaking my heart, when you don’t start. Mainoo, United can’t play without you, United can’t play without you.”

Fans loved it! One said, “Mainoo finally has a chant and it’s a banger,” and another called it an “absolute belter.”

Others shared: “We are definitely the best and most original club for chants,” and, “Finally a Mainoo chant and it really slaps.” Another fan urged, “Old Trafford has to be singing this from the first minute next game. Share this everywhere.”

Alan Keegan, who has been announcing at Old Trafford for over 25 years, gave a special shoutout after Mainoo scored against Liverpool. Before saying his name, he called him “Manchester born and bred,” which is unusual for him to add.

The crowd loved it, and Tyrone Marshall wrote, “Mainoo’s first goal since scoring against Lyon. ‘Manchester born and bred,’ says Alan Keegan. What a week for him.”
