Liverpool’s new kit for the 2026/27 season has been leaked online, and fans are already sharing their thoughts—especially about one detail. The Reds are getting ready for their second year of a 10-year deal with Adidas, after ending their partnership with Nike. This deal is said to be worth an impressive £60 million a year and has brought back lots of good memories for Liverpool fans who loved Adidas’ designs from the 1980s and 1990s.

Next season’s home kit looks like a modern version of the classic 1989-91 shirt, which had Candy as the main sponsor for four years. The design features a triangle pattern all over to give it a retro vibe. The red is darker than usual, with white trim on the stripes and logos.

However, many fans who saw the leak on Footy Headlines weren’t fans of the collar, thinking it looked a bit odd. One user on X said, “What’s that collar all about? @adidasfootball @adidasUK have got it totally wrong again. White collar & cuffs with a gold Liverbird & manufacturer’s badge is the @LFC winning combo.” Another added, “Love the original. Love love love. Glad they’ve remade it but really hate the collar and cuffs and all those lines on the pattern. 7/10.” Others shared similar feelings, saying they liked the shirt but wished the collar was simple white, while some were more critical about the design.

The new kit is expected to come out in May or June and will first be seen in Liverpool’s pre-season games. Liverpool has worked with Adidas three times before, and this latest partnership has allowed them to bring back some popular retro designs, which fans have loved.

The Reds will be back on the pitch this Sunday, heading to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in an important game as they chase a spot in next season’s Champions League.
