Man Utd adds surprise Premier League player to their list after completing Ederson deal
Manchester United are said to have added a top Premier League player to their transfer list after agreeing to sign Brazilian midfielder Ederson from Atalanta.
Even though the transfer window doesn’t open until June 15, United have already struck a deal with Atalanta for Ederson. He will join the club for £35 million and sign a four-year contract, with the option to stay for another year.
It looks like a few players will leave United soon, including Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, and Andre Onana. At the same time, the club wants to bring in two midfielders, a left winger, a left-back, and maybe also a striker and a center-back.
One player who’s caught United’s eye is Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye. The 26-year-old, born in France but representing Senegal, is expected to be part of Senegal’s World Cup squad. Reports from the Liverpool Echo say Ndiaye is on United’s shortlist.
United are also interested in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, but if they can’t sign him, Ndiaye could be a good alternative. Ndiaye’s contract with Everton runs until 2029. He joined Everton from Marseille in 2024 for £15 million and has become a key player, scoring 17 goals and making three assists in 71 games so far.
Aside from his goals, Ndiaye is known for his amazing dribbling skills. Last season, he completed the second most successful dribbles in the Premier League with 70, just behind Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku, who had 77.
The Athletic says Ndiaye turned down several new contract offers last season. Everton really want to keep him and value him at about £70 million. Everton’s manager David Moyes made it clear in April that he doesn’t want to sell Ndiaye anytime soon.
“He’s the last player I’d want to sell,” Moyes said. “There’s others too, but my point is I don’t want to hear rumours about selling. Every club might sell if the price is right, but that doesn’t mean he’s for sale. It’s getting harder to build teams, and fans want quick results. So why would we give up our best players?”
In February, Ndiaye spoke to The Times about the transfer rumours. He said he hears them but stays calm and focused.
“I see the talk,” Ndiaye said. “But I don’t get caught up in social media. I’m a chill person. Football can take you anywhere. If teams are interested, it means I’m doing well. As long as I’m at Everton, I’ll always give my best. I want to achieve great things with Everton, starting this season and aiming for Europe.”
