Man Utd fans really liked what Matheus Cunha wrote under Shea Lacey’s post after the Roma win.

Matheus Cunha and Shea Lacey shared a sweet moment on Instagram after both helped Manchester United come back to win 3-2 against Roma. The young English player posted a photo of him and Cunha hugging at Old Trafford, saying, “Until the very end. Thank you Old Trafford.” Cunha, who scored two goals that night, replied, “It shows how much I believe in you.” Other Red Devils players also left kind comments on Lacey’s post.

Players like team captain Bruno Fernandes, who scored that night and called Lacey “My kid,” shared warm messages—despite Fernandes’ post-match rant leading to Amazon Prime’s apology. Young talents Andrey Santos and Harry Amass also showed support with “Amazing” and heart emojis. Jack Fletcher, son of club legend Darren Fletcher, left a star emoji, while his twin brother Jack added fire emojis. Patrick Dorgu chimed in with heart-eye emojis.

Manchester United fell 2-0 early in the Champions League match against Roma, with goals from Matias Soule and Donyell Malen. But at 58 minutes, Fernandes scored a penalty to get United back in the game. Then Cunha scored twice in the 83rd and 86th minutes, with Lacey assisting the second goal, securing a crucial win for Michael Carrick’s team in Europe.

Right now, the Red Devils are 17th in the Champions League standings. If they had drawn or lost, they might have dropped as low as 25th.

Lacey, 19, came on as a substitute for Amad Diallo and made a big impact in just 15 minutes, completing most of his dribbles and helping to set up Cunha’s second goal. He also did well in tackles and ground duels. Carrick praised Lacey, saying he has “that little glint in his eye” and that the fans love him.

Carrick said, “I’m really happy for Shea. We all love him. He’s a fantastic young player who really wants to do well. The way he found that pass for Cunha’s goal shows his great skills and cleverness. He plays with a bit of fun and is always looking to shine.”

Carrick added, “I was just as pleased seeing him defend as a right-back when we needed it. A good footballer has to do both. He gave everyone a lift when he came on. It was brilliant to see.”

On the other hand, Cunha, who had a spat with Carrick that has since been cleared up, was sent off after getting two bookings—one for taking off his shirt and another for a foul.

Now, Manchester United will face Aston Villa in the Premier League this Sunday at 4:30pm at Old Trafford.
