Man Utd getting ready to make a surprise £69m double offer in the last days of the transfer window.
Manchester United are gearing up to make a double offer worth over £69 million as the transfer window nears its end, according to reports.
Michael Carrick’s team had a tough start to the Premier League season, losing 2-0 to Hull City on Saturday. New signings Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans got their first games in United’s refreshed midfield, which has also been boosted by Carlos Baleba arriving from Brighton for £70 million.
Despite this, United still want to bring in another left-back to support Luke Shaw, especially with their return to the Champions League coming up. Newcastle’s Lewis Hall is their main target, but the club is reluctant to sell him after already losing key players this summer. Another option linked with United is Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde.
According to Fabrizio Romano, 22-year-old Balde doesn’t want to leave Barcelona unless the club decides to sell him. He missed Barcelona’s 5-0 win over Elche recently because he wasn’t fully ready, but he’s expected to be in the squad against Athletic Bilbao. Balde has said he wants to fight for his place at Barcelona, but the final decision lies with the club. Romano added that only a big offer from a top team could change the situation before the deadline.
Journalist Francisco Jose Delgado shared on Spanish radio that United is planning a €80 million (£69.5 million) bid to sign two La Liga players together. He says United will offer around €30 million for Balde at the end of the transfer window. They are also interested in Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, a player they have followed since 2021 when he was an 18-year-old at Rennes. Although Camavinga played 43 games for Real last season, his future at the club isn’t fully settled. Delgado says an agent with strong international connections told him that United is preparing a €30 million offer for Balde and a €50 million offer for Camavinga to send in before the window closes.
After Real Madrid’s 2-1 win over Espanyol, their new manager, Mourinho, hinted that some players might still leave. He said the squad is “closed” for now and he hasn’t asked for anyone else, but the transfer market is always open and things can change if players want to move. He seems happy with the team he has right now.
