Marcus Rashford catches the eye of five clubs, including three from the Premier League.

Manchester United and England forward Marcus Rashford is becoming a hot topic as the summer transfer window gets underway.

Rashford has been named in England’s World Cup squad, where he’ll wear the number 11 shirt as the Three Lions face Croatia, Ghana, and Panama in the United States this month.

At 28, Rashford has faced some bumps along the way. He was let go during Ruben Amorim’s rocky time as head coach at his boyhood club but bounced back with strong loan spells at Premier League side Aston Villa and top Spanish club Barcelona. At Barcelona, he spent the whole 2025-26 season and won his first league title.

Even though Rashford still has three years left on his contract with Manchester United, the club seems ready to sell him, with about five clubs interested.

According to The i Paper, Barcelona is ready to make a deal, even after signing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle. Barcelona wants Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid, but Atletico isn’t keen on selling him to their league rivals.

Football reporter Pete Hall from the North West says Barcelona hasn’t made a final decision yet. They have just under two weeks to use their option to buy Rashford for £26 million. But sources in Spain say Barcelona probably won’t meet that price and may let the deadline pass before thinking about it again.

Bayern Munich is also watching the situation and might consider another loan if no club meets Rashford’s wage demands.

It looks like at least three Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on him. One source mentioned Newcastle might look to Rashford as a replacement for Gordon, even if it doesn’t fully match their recruitment plans. Aston Villa could also sign him again, as he played there in the second half of the 2024-25 season.

During his time at Villa, Rashford scored four goals in 17 games across all competitions. He even moved ahead of the club’s record Premier League scorer, Ollie Watkins, and helped the team reach the Champions League quarter-finals and qualify for the Europa League. Villa went on to win the Europa League, but Rashford spent the next year in Spain, winning La Liga and making 11 appearances in the Champions League. Overall, Rashford scored 14 goals in 49 matches across all competitions.
