Max Verstappen has reached his limit after crashing out of the British GP, and his strong radio message has just come to light.
Max Verstappen’s frustrated radio messages right after crashing out of the British Grand Prix have come to light, and it’s clear he was really upset. Verstappen began the Silverstone race in seventh place but worked his way up to third before crashing on lap 48, getting stuck in the gravel with his Red Bull.
Right after the crash, Verstappen vented over team radio, saying, “I’m stuck, dude. F*** this car. F****** unbelievable.” Earlier in the race, he had already expressed frustration, saying, “For a few laps now, I haven’t said anything, but the downshifts are ****.”
It wasn’t just Verstappen who had a tough day at Silverstone. Lewis Hamilton from Ferrari got a five-second penalty for jumping the start. Despite this, Hamilton accepted it sportsmanlike and still finished third. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said, “Big congratulations to Charles, this is a great result for our team. I just didn’t have it today. I jumped the start, got a penalty, and Charles was just faster.”
Kimi Antonelli also got a five-second penalty after warnings for track limits, finishing 16th in the race.
Charles Leclerc took the win after the safety car stayed out, which upset many fans who booed and left early. According to F1.com, Race Control likely saw something around Stowe corner that made it unsafe to restart racing. After winning, Leclerc said, “It feels incredible. The finish wasn’t how I dreamed, but after some tough weekends, this win means a lot. I felt better during qualifying and the sprint race, and today I brought that feeling back.”
George Russell, who finished second, shared, “My first podium here, even though the race was unlucky—I got a puncture, then got lucky. My tires were cold, but I’m happy to finish second. Ferrari looks really quick, so it’s on!”
The F1 season will continue on July 19 with the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.
